Join Our Pack! On a daily basis, we have new foster dogs and cats coming into the system that need medical care, such as insulin, heart meds, allergy meds etc. Won't you be part of the pack and help with a monthly donation?
2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!

"Hi everybody! My name is Squally and I'm a shy little guy. I came to 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescuefrom a high kill shelter . My new foster mom & dad think I'll open up soon and my personality will shine! I get along well with my foster sister, Faith. Maybe when I come out of my shell and the weather warms up, we can run and play together! There's a cat lurking around the house, but we just ignore each other, which is fine by me. I like curling up in bed at night - (Last night I stole my sis's bed, so my foster mom bought me one of my very own!) I think my foster dad is a cool guy, which is why I'm always wagging my tail and wondering what he's up to. I've been through some tough times, but I have a positive outlook on life because all of the belly rubs and kisses I get now. I love two things so far... car rides, and this thing called "shopping with mom at PetSmart"! My sister, Faith teaches me cool stuff like how to play with squeaky toys and chew on Nylabones. She doesn't even get mad when I lie in her crate and chew on her toys! I watched her give Mom some kisses, so I tried it! Not too bad! I will do great in just about any home and should probably have a fenced yard so I can run around. Well... See ya around! Good with Adults, Good with Men, Good with Dogs, Good with Cats"
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
